MAY 2015

The Madeline Rust would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who came down to the Analogue Excursions event at Plates Records on 16th May.
Nick and Ralph at Plates have been working so hard to get their dub plate studio set up in the lead-up to the event, and we were very proud to be there to witness the official unveiling at the same time as hosting a musical extravaganza!...

It was a full line-up all afternoon, with four diverse musical acts and four vinyl DJs providing musical celebration of all things analogue. From the ambient cassette tape soundscapes of Grey Frequency, to the 45rpm Psychedelic 60s sounds of Steve Yates, every DJ and musician blew us away. Rich Dundas of Nottingham’s I Own You Records provided some excellent vinyl treats during his set, and Thin Raft’s minimal, guitar noise eased us into the day beautifully.

But star prize goes to Paddy Steer, whose crazy hand-made instruments and stunning talent made our faces ache from smiling. We’ve never seen anyone quite like Paddy before, and we recommend you make it your ambition to see him live!

We had a great time playing this event, and look forward to returning as a four-piece in the future, since we were 'sans Gez' for this one...
